The qualification is a level 5 vocational qualification for the housing sector regulated by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales and accredited by CCEA Regulation. A Level 5 diploma is equivalent to the second year of a bachelor’s degree, a foundation degree, or a Higher National Diploma (HND).
The objective of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of housing practice required to deliver effective housing services at a strategic management and executive level. It aims to provide knowledge and skills in professionalism, ethics, leadership, strategic planning for housing, customer focused housing services, and managing partner relationships, which are required to manage housing services at a strategic or executive level.

We have structured the delivery to be thematic rather than delivered unit by unit and for the course to run as a fast-track, residential, executive retreat of three, 3-day residential weekends (Thursday pm – Sunday noon) held over 5-6months. The themes are “customer focused leadership”, “strategic planning and partner relations” and “professional, ethical practice”. Much assessment is done during the residential weekends, with some submissions required outside them.
The qualification is suitable for learners who are currently working in or aspiring to a strategic senior housing management or executive role in housing.

With recognition that executives and senior managers who are required to gain a professional qualification at level 5 have significant time pressures and will be wanting to achieve this in the shortest space of time, we have developed our level 5 qualification to be a ‘fast track’ route to certification. To achieve this outcome, we have structured the delivery to be thematic rather than delivered unit by unit and for the course to run over three, 3-day residential weekends (Thursday pm – Sunday noon).
The themes are “customer focused leadership”, “strategic planning and partner relations” and finally “professional, ethical practice”.
Each weekend will be structured to ensure optimal delivery time and allow for assessment in situ where possible, maximise networking and sharing of bast practice, to inspire and allow for individual reflection on capabilities, behaviours, strengths and developmental areas. There will be group and individual work, time to research and read and also guest speakers to share their own experiences and knowledge in a thought provoking and engaging way. 121 coaching will also be offered to delegates.
All of our tutors have significant social housing experience and are qualified adult trainers.
We are aiming to minimise work outside of the three residential weekends, however there will be some gathering of information needed and maybe some data analysis, production of a small portfolio, etc.
The price for the full qualification is £6,750 per person (plus VAT). This includes:

▲ 3 nights’ accommodation at 3 residential weekends
▲ Breakfast, lunch and evening meals on each day (Thursday is just evening meal, and Sunday will be breakfast only)
